What Gets a Reminder
Hvsna can remind you before a task that has a specific clock time. Tasks with no time, and prayer-anchored tasks, don't get a reminder — there's no fixed instant to schedule against. There are no prayer-time notifications.
Turning Reminders On
- Open Settings → Notifications
- Turn on Enable notifications — the browser asks for permission the first time
- Pick how far ahead to be reminded (5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes) — this one lead time applies to every timed task
- Use Send test notification to check it works
Web reminders are scheduled inside the browser, so the app tab has to stay open for them to fire, and they're only set for tasks more than an hour away.
- Open Settings → Reminders
- Turn on the master switch — Android asks for notification permission and, on newer versions, permission to schedule exact alarms
- On each task with a clock time, open it and turn on Reminder, then choose when: at the time, or 5 minutes / 15 minutes / 1 hour / 1 day before
Android reminders fire in the background and survive a reboot. The notification has a Mark done action.
If you previously denied permission, re-enable it in your system settings for Hvsna.
Not Getting Notifications?
- Check the site's notification permission in your browser
- Check Do Not Disturb / focus modes
- Confirm notifications are on in Settings → Notifications
- Confirm the Hvsna tab is still open
- Check the notification permission for Hvsna in system settings
- Check that "Alarms & reminders" / exact-alarm permission is allowed
- Check Do Not Disturb and battery optimization aren't restricting Hvsna
- Confirm the master switch is on in Settings → Reminders, and the task's own Reminder switch is on
